There have been some rumours flying around that an official Microsoft endorsed app for Windows Live Messenger will be released for the Android platform. Made by Miyowa, official Microsoft partners and the creators of the messenger being used on all Windows Phone 7s, it is the first and currently, only Microsoft endorsed app for Windows Live Messenger.
The Application will be free but ad-supported, and should be compatible with all Android devices 1.6 or higher. Having played around with this application before on a Windows phone, it will be missing important things such as file transfer and integration with Windows Live Skydrive. This app should feature multi-tasking as well and push notification (something the windows phone has had trouble with). We should also expect this app to be missing MPOP, multiple point of presence, which gives the user the ability to sing in at multiple locations at once.
We hope that Microsoft will be expanding more Windows Live services across multiple platforms. What we can also hope for is the official Windows Live Messenger Integration in the Windows Phone 7, which should be coming with their upcoming “Mango” update. We hope.
