A fresh 3DS firmware update went live tonight, and it added a number of previously unannounced new features to Nintendo’s latest handheld (which has apparently been quite popular recently.) In addition to a handy new feature that allows you to back up the save data from any of your digitally downloaded games, Nintendo has added [...]

May was a relatively quiet month for new releases (it’s the calm before the storm of E3,) and while the industry suffered an overall decline in both software and hardware sales once again, a few companies did manage to generate some respectable sales during the month: WB Games’ Injustice proved that people never get tired [...]

The best week on the gaming calendar has come and gone. There was no shortage of great games at this year’s show, and when all is said and done, I think we’ll look back on E3 2013 in a few years and remember it fondly as one of the best years in the expo’s history.

E3 really isn’t the best place to play a slow paced, story focused adventure game, but despite all the loud dubstep assaulting my ears and the scantily clad booth attendants distracting my eyes, it wasn’t hard to get immersed in Phoenix Wright’s big comeback.

The internet gave a collective “Woooo” in their best Ric Flair voice yesterday as Nintendo finally lifted the lid on the Namco Bandai co-developed Smash Bros. title set to release next year. They further cheered at the inclusion of the Blue Bomber himself, Mega Man, as the latest third-party character to be introduced into the [...]

As you may or may not know, depending how many entries of my TL;DR series you’ve read, I’m sort of a Sega baby. (The Dreamcast 2 WILL happen!) I was born with a Genesis controller in my mouth. I certainly wasn’t anti-Nintendo or anything like that, I love games of all platforms and genres; but [...]

Pokemon’s core, rock-paper-scissors like mechanic of differing Pokemon “types” hasn’t changed much in the last thirteen years, but that may all change with Pokemon X and Y, as Nintendo announced today that the latest Pokemon will add a brand new, 18th type to shake up the game’s established balance.

Nintendo wrapped their special E3 edition of Nintendo Direct just a short while ago, and a lot was announced. Unfortunately, the stream quality was extremely poor, with both audio and video cutting out at many points as well as constant buffering. Fortunately, however, Nintendo has now uploaded the presentation in it’s entirety to YouTube, complete [...]

We’re just a weekend away from E3, so it’s time to wrap up the “PrE-3″ predictions with none other than “The Big N.” Nintendo, though, has curiously opted out of a big E3 presentation this year. I say curiously because the entire world is well aware of Nintendo’s current failings while trying to keep the Wii U relevant. Struggling [...]

Electronic Arts has been a major publisher in the gaming scene for decades now. They command near total control of the sports world, snagging exclusive licenses that ensure their titles are the most authentic professional sports experiences available. But the success doesn’t end there, as the company also thrives with some of the most popular [...]
