Nintendo is showing up to the Game Developers Conference in Europe for the first time ever this year. According to an update posted on the official GDC Europe site, The Big N has scheduled two special vendor sessions. Details have yet to be revealed, but stay tuned as Nintendo’s plans for the event will be announced in the very near future.
GDC Europe is scheduled to run from August 19-21 and takes place in Cologne, Germany. The event will feature talks discussing nearly every facet of the gaming industry, from noted veterans such as Quantic Dream’s David Cage and Google developer advocate Todd Kerpelman. Passes are still available for those interested in attending. Additionally, GDC Europe runs alongside of gamescom 2013, combining to form a mega-event the will assuredly overstimulate your gaming senses.
GDC always features some of the most informative and interesting talks from the best and brightest the gaming community has to offer. It’s certainly interesting to see Nintendo finally taking an active interest in the European conference specifically. It’s also intriguing they’ve elected to remain somewhat secretive as to their plans. What could they possibly be bringing to GDC that’s worthy of remaining a mystery?
What do you folks think Nintendo will discuss at GDC Europe next month? Are there any other specific talks you’re looking forward to? Are you more interested in developer-focused, behind-the-scenes events such as this, or do you prefer the glitz and glamor that comes with E3?
