Xbox Live Weekly Deal Focuses on Arcade Hits; Includes SEGA Publisher Sale

Xbox Live Weekly Deal Focuses on Arcade Hits; Includes SEGA Publisher Sale

Vincent Parisi 18 Jun

I realize it’s been a few weeks since I’ve done a proper “Deals Roundup,” but it’s been a pretty hectic month and some other, more topical news has occupied me as of late. This week, however, Xbox Live is dishing out some major deal-age, and I simply had to make an exception. By now you’re well aware that I’m a Sega baby; so when the Blue Blur and crew is discounting titles, I’m obligated to help spread the word. In addition to a major sale on a number of Sega titles and arcade classics, Xbox Live’s “Deal of the Week” also slashes prices on a number of quality Arcade hits, so it bears special mention as well. Take a look at what’s in store for this week:

Xbox Live’s Deal of the Week

  • AstroPop– 400 Microsoft Points
  • Bejeweled 2– 200 Microsoft Points
  • Bejeweled 3– 600 Microsoft Points
  • Bejeweled Blitz Live– 200 Microsoft Points
  • Feeding Frenzy– 200 Microsoft Points
  • Feeding Frenzy 2– 400 Microsoft Points
  • Heavy Weapon– 400 Microsoft Points
  • Zuma– 200 Microsoft Points
  • Zuma’s Revenge– 400 Microsoft Points

SEGA Publisher Sale

  • Crazy Taxi– 400 Microsoft Points
  • Jet Set Radio– 400 Microsoft Points
  • NiGHTS into Dreams– 400 Microsoft Points
  • Renegade Ops– 320 Microsoft Points
  • Sega Superstars Tennis– $9.99
  • Sonic 2– 160 Microsoft Points
  • Sonic 3– 160 Microsoft Points
  • Sonic 4: Episode 1– 400 Microsoft Points
  • Sonic 4: Episode 2– 400 Microsoft Points
  • Sonic Adventure 2– 400 Microsoft Points
  • Sonic and Knuckles– 160 Microsoft Points
  • Sonic CD– 160 Microsoft Points
  • Sonic Generations (Games on Demand)- $9.99
  • Sonic the Hedgehog– 160 Microsoft Points
  • Sonic Unleashed (Games on Demand)- $9.99
  • Space Channel 5 Part 2– 160 Microsoft Points
  • The Cave– 600 Microsoft Points
  • Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown– 400 Microsoft Points

Not a bad turnout, wouldn’t you say? I’m personally picking up Space Channel 5 Part 2 and finally getting my hands on Sonic CD, a title that has eluded my grasp in every other Sonic or Sega collection that I’ve amassed over the years. Sonic Generations also comes highly recommended if you haven’t already picked up the title. For those who want a better sense of how Sonic: Lost World pays homage to Sonic titles of year’s past, Generations offers the same level of respect and nostalgia-infused goodness for the hedgehog’s history.

Do you guys and gals plan on picking up any Arcade titles or Sega games during this massive sale? Which is your favorite classic Sega franchise?  Let us know in the usual place, and be sure to like IGXPro on Facebook, follow us onTwitter, or give us the ‘ol +1 on Google+. If you can’t get enough of my shenanigans, (who could blame you?) you can check me out @GamingsNirvana, or add +VinnyParisi to your circles.

About The Author

Vincent Parisi

I guess I'm the typical, modern day nerd. I was raised right on Batman: TAS and old-school TMNT. I've been a core gamer since I was 2 years old (I was beating Mario before I could finish sentences) and haven't thought twice about it since. My favorite game genre is RPG for sure. I love the advent of channels like Nerdist and Geek and Sundry, and will never turn down an invitation to a Con. (Though I don't cosplay... yet.) I hate not owning the latest and greatest gadgets and aspire to find my place in the world of game journalism. Favorite Games: The Mass Effect trilogy, Super Mario World, the BioShock series, the Ratchet and Clank series, anything featuring Nolan North. Favorite shows: FireFly (Browncoats, unite!), Bones, Castle, Spectacular Spider-Man (RIP), Transformers Prime. Anything featuring the voice talents of Steve Blum, Gina Torres, Ashley Johnson, or Yuri Lowenthal. Favorite Comics: Amazing Spider-Man (Thanks for the memories), most things featuring Batman, any one where Green Arrow makes an appearance.
