Nintendo announced today that The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD (previously known as Wind Waker Reborn,) will be released worldwide this October. Besides the expected graphical upgrade, the Wii U remake of the Gamecube classic will have some brand new online features via Miiverse.
In Wind Waker HD, players will be able to leave messages in bottles, which will then be uploaded to Nintendo’s Miiverse network and shared with other players who are at that same point in the game. Players will also be able to upload screenshots taken with the in-game camera. The whole system sounds similar to how players are able to leave short messages and tips for each other in From Software’s Dark Souls series. Wind Waker was always pretty easy, so I’m not sure you’ll really need advice from other players, but it’s a nice bonus feature, I guess.
