New Killer is Dead Trailer is Gigo-Loco

New Killer is Dead Trailer is Gigo-Loco

Vincent Parisi 30 Apr

Heh, do you like that? I came up with it myself. *Self-pat* Anyway, Suda51 is cooking up his latest out-of-control action title Killer is Dead, and released a new trailer this morning to entertain the masses. As per usual with anything Suda-related, the trailer seeks to not only utterly confuse and befuddle you, it will also leave you wondering if what you’re watching is even real; or just images of pure fantasy injected directly into your brain from some Animus-type device. In fact, prolonged exposure may leave you wondering if anything you’ve ever known is genuine or if you’re just living in a Matrix-esque computer fantasy. Take a look for yourselves, just don’t stare too long:

As you can see, the trailer highlights one of the game’s features, called “Gigolo Mode.” The objective of said Gigolo Missions is to seduce women, and it would appear you are equipped with a special pair of Gigolo Glasses that double as the X-ray specs you once dreamed of owning as a young, pimply teenager.

As far as story details, yeah, umm, I got nothing. Obviously the protagonist takes contracts to kill people and the combat is reminiscent of No More Heroes with a touch more pizzazz. The rest of the trailer is just sort of… Boobs. With all of the ridiculousness of the average Suda experience seemingly well in tow, I’m surprised the trailer was a more generic “look at all the beautiful ladies in the game” and not focused on the more absurd aspects such as, “Hey look at that nurse riding a magic syringe!”

I have high expectations for Killer is Dead, and while this trailer doesn’t do a whole lot to sell me, I still have enough faith in Grasshopper Manufacture to give them the benefit of the doubt. The title is currently targeting an August release date and will be available for both the PS3 and Xbox 360.

What do you guys, and especially gals, think about the latest trailer for Killer is Dead? Are you looking forward to more absurdity from the warped mind of Suda 51? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

About The Author

Vincent Parisi

I guess I'm the typical, modern day nerd. I was raised right on Batman: TAS and old-school TMNT. I've been a core gamer since I was 2 years old (I was beating Mario before I could finish sentences) and haven't thought twice about it since. My favorite game genre is RPG for sure. I love the advent of channels like Nerdist and Geek and Sundry, and will never turn down an invitation to a Con. (Though I don't cosplay... yet.) I hate not owning the latest and greatest gadgets and aspire to find my place in the world of game journalism. Favorite Games: The Mass Effect trilogy, Super Mario World, the BioShock series, the Ratchet and Clank series, anything featuring Nolan North. Favorite shows: FireFly (Browncoats, unite!), Bones, Castle, Spectacular Spider-Man (RIP), Transformers Prime. Anything featuring the voice talents of Steve Blum, Gina Torres, Ashley Johnson, or Yuri Lowenthal. Favorite Comics: Amazing Spider-Man (Thanks for the memories), most things featuring Batman, any one where Green Arrow makes an appearance.
