Namco Bandai announces Collector’s Editions for Tales of Xillia, Project X Zone

Namco Bandai announces Collector’s Editions for Tales of Xillia, Project X Zone

Michael Lacerna 11 Apr

Fans of Japanese RPG’s are advised to start saving up their money ASAP, as today Namco Bandai announced that both Tales of Xillia and Project X Zone are getting fancy (and expensive!) collector’s editions.

Tales of Xillia is the latest game in Namco’s long running Tales Of franchise, and the first game in the series to be developed specifically for the PS3 (last year’s Tales of Graces F was a port of a Japan-only Wii game.) The $99.99 Collector’s Edition for the game will come with an artbook featuring work by acclaimed manga artists Kosuke Fujishima (best known for his work on Ah! My Goddess, You’re Under Arrest, and the original Tales of Phantasia,) and Mutsumi Inomata (who previously did the character designs for Tales of Destiny, and worked on anime series’ like Gundam SEED Destiny.) The package will also come with a figurine of the game’s heroine, Milla Maxwell, as well as copy of the game’s soundtrack.

Meanwhile, mega crossover Project X Zone’s Limited Edition will come with a poster, a mini-art book featuring the game’s massive cast of characters, and a soundtrack, all for $39.99. In case you didn’t know, Project X Zone is a strategy RPG that features characters from Sega, Namco Bandai, and Capcom’s massive roster of franchises, including Street Fighter, Kega Man, Valkyria Chronicles, and Soul Calibur. Project X Zone was developed by Monolith Soft, the creators of Xenosaga and Xenoblade Chronicles.

Project X Zone will be available on American 3DS’s on June 25th. Tales of Xillia is set to launch on the PS3 a few weeks later, on August 6th.
