Injustice: Gods Among Us Welcomes Raven To The Fight

Injustice: Gods Among Us Welcomes Raven To The Fight

Vincent Parisi 14 Mar

Teen Titans fans, prepare to get totally excited. Or be totally disappointed, depending on how much you liked Raven’s outfit and voice actor from the popular cartoon series. NetherRealm Studios’ upcoming Injustice: Gods Among Us has released a brand new trailer featuring everyone’s favorite daddy-issue riddled Titan, Raven. Sporting a much more grown up attitude and a creepy, demon-y man-voice, Raven appears to have some incredible combo loops that’ll punish opponents for just looking at her funny.

Here’s the trailer:

So, what do you folks think? Do you like the new outfit? Do you hate it? I’m more bothered they didn’t get Tara Strong to reprise the voice of Raven, considering she’s already doing so for the upcoming Teen Titans “revival” cartoon series coming to Cartoon Network later this year. (Don’t get too excited about that either, because it looks very clearly aimed at a younger audience.) Here’s hoping this is just a placeholder voice the team decided to use just to throw us off.

I’m actually looking forward to Injustice. Don’t take that to mean I thought it looked bad, NetherRealm did an incredible job rebooting Mortal Kombat last year and so I’ve always had total confidence in their ability to make a quality DC brawler; I just never usually get excited over the release of a new fighting game. Injustice is the first time since Soul Calibur 2 that I simply can’t wait to get my hands on a fighting game. It must be a mix of the intriguing, interwoven storyline combined with an incredible playable roster that has so much more depth than I ever thought it would. Bringing in characters like Doomsday, Raven and Hawkgirl are such a welcome change from the obligatory Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman dynamic. So basically, Kudos to NetherRealm for managing to convince me this is a title worth getting excited over.

Injustice: Gods Among Us is scheduled to release on April 16 (NA) for the Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii U. The game will arrive just days later on April 19 for the folks in Europe.

Vincent Parisi

I guess I'm the typical, modern day nerd. I was raised right on Batman: TAS and old-school TMNT. I've been a core gamer since I was 2 years old (I was beating Mario before I could finish sentences) and haven't thought twice about it since. My favorite game genre is RPG for sure. I love the advent of channels like Nerdist and Geek and Sundry, and will never turn down an invitation to a Con. (Though I don't cosplay... yet.) I hate not owning the latest and greatest gadgets and aspire to find my place in the world of game journalism. Favorite Games: The Mass Effect trilogy, Super Mario World, the BioShock series, the Ratchet and Clank series, anything featuring Nolan North. Favorite shows: FireFly (Browncoats, unite!), Bones, Castle, Spectacular Spider-Man (RIP), Transformers Prime. Anything featuring the voice talents of Steve Blum, Gina Torres, Ashley Johnson, or Yuri Lowenthal. Favorite Comics: Amazing Spider-Man (Thanks for the memories), most things featuring Batman, any one where Green Arrow makes an appearance.
