Dreamfall Chapters gets a new trailer, 2014 release date

Dreamfall Chapters gets a new trailer, 2014 release date

Michael Lacerna 02 Mar

There’s still about a week left on Red Thread Games’ Kickstarter for Dreamfall Chapters, but the game has already surpassed its original goal of $850,000 by a wide margin. To celebrate their Kickstarter’s success, Red Thread has released a new trailer today for the long awaited sequel.

The trailer does a good job of getting newbies up to speed with the world of The Longest Journey and Dreamfall: Set in the dual worlds of Stark and Arcadia, Dreamfall Chapters’ story begins where the first Dreamfall left off, with heroine Zoe trapped in a sort of limbo state after her body was knocked into a coma. Chapters’ story will be told from the perspective of three different characters, including Zoe and a brand new heroine. It’s currently unclear if the protagonist from the original game, April, will appear.

Red Thread Games says Dreamfall Chapters won’t be released until November 2014. Fans of The Longest Journey are already probably used to waiting long periods of time in between new chapters in the series, but even with that in mind, it seems kind of strange that the game’s release date is still almost two years away. As hard as the wait may be, I think we’d all prefer if if Red Thread took their time with the game rather than rushing out an unfinished product.
