A new console isn’t worth much if it doesn’t have any games, so in addition to giving us our first look at the PS4’s unique hardware and social features today, Sony also had a few developers on hand to reveal the titles that they’re developing for the brand new Playstation.
Blizzard revealed that they’re porting Diablo 3 over to both the PS3 and the PS4. Blizzard says the PS3 version is already “up and running,” and will feature a split screen mode for local multiplayer. While they didn’t have any actual gameplay footage to show, Blizzard says that they’ll formally unveil the game later this year, probably at the upcoming PAX East convention.
Activision also took the stage to reveal that Bungie’s upcoming always online, open-world FPS Destiny will be coming to the PS4 as well, in addition to the previously announced Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. Despite being a former Microsoft studio, Bungie is promising that the PS4 version of Destiny will feature exclusive content not available on other platforms.
Square-Enix didn’t have any actual gameplay footage to show either, but producer Shinji Hashimoto told the audience at today’s press conference that Square was developing the next Final Fantasy game for PS4, and that the new FF would be revealed at this year’s E3.
