Steam’s yearly holiday sale was supposed to come to an end tomorrow, but today Valve announced that the sale would be extended another two days, as this weekend will be host to a series of “encore deals” that’ll give PC gamers a second chance to grab any discounts they may have missed earlier in the sale.
The sale will now conclude at 1p.m. EST on Monday, and Valve says that the “most sought after” titles will be featured in the encore round of deals. I’m guessing that means we can look forward to discounts on this Fall’s most popular PC games, like Borderlands 2 and XCom.
I usually buy a lot during Steam’s holiday sales, but I only picked up two or three games this year. There were so many Steam sales in 2012 that I think I already own every halfway decent game on Steam that my PC can run, so maybe I should lay-off the new purchases for awhile and work down my backlog. Then again, you can never have too many video games, so I’ll still probably spend a good chunk of my weekend browsing Steam’s deals.
