“Legolas! What do your elf eyes see?” Warg Riders, Orcs, Wraiths, Ents, The White Wizard? “Arrr, too slow elf” says Gimli, “They be Legos, Legolas!” That’s rights my nerdy kin, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has made me proud to present, LEGO Lord of the Rings! This action packed story role playing masterpiece lets you dive into the game as one of the Fellowship members and embark on challenging puzzles, explore mysterious landscapes, fight naughty Orcs, trolls, and Uruk-hai along with the epic battle of the not so nice Witch-King. Weather you opt for the two-handed axes, bow, sword and shield or simple, yet powerful magic, the choice is all yours!
This game offers non-stop game play options as different characters, including the concerned Sam, brave Frodo, and the always comical Merry and Pippin. The additional mini-figure discussions and/or arguing scenes should be entertaining, like the proper way to cook coney, having second breakfast, or the competitiveness of Gimli and Legolas in their kill count.
All three stories of the Lord of the Rings are covered in this game. So you get to start in the beginning with the creation of the Fellowship and through hack, shoot, or cast and slash your way through hideous creatures, meet the beautiful Arwen, and catch glimpses of Gollum talking to himself.
Proceed to the second story of The Two Towers to pick up where The Fellowship left off and continue you’re journey separated from your group, but don’t worry if you forgot something in a previous chapter this game will feature the Palantir also known as the Seeing-stone and this will allow you to jump to different parts of your epic journey. Personally I can’t wait to see the Ents awake and reap havoc on Saruman’s towers!
Jump to the last of this masterpiece in The Return of the King and regroup with pieces of your fellowship remaining. Struggle to get that dang ring across the black land of Mordor and throw that sucker off your finger and into the fiery pit of Mount Doom.
Easier said than done, but with the ability to forge your own weapons in the Blacksmith Shop, all those harmfully wicked trouble makers will be begging for mercy, if you can locate the mother of all metals, Mithril! Allowing friends and family members to join in and play whenever you let them and leave when you tell them, I love that this game lets YOU decide if you want multi-player and when you don’t; it’s time for them to hit the road 😉
With over 60 playable characters, weapons, magic items, including Elven rope to hold Sam’s weight and the Light of Earendil to find the light in the darkness, this game is calling all Tolkien fans like the ring to its maker. My Precious!
