YouTube Tuesday: The Walking Dead ‘Around Every Corner’ Trailer Edition

YouTube Tuesday: The Walking Dead ‘Around Every Corner’ Trailer Edition

Dave Bast 02 Oct

Every Tuesday I like to take some time to focus on the hardworking and dedicated “YouTubers” within the gaming community. This week features yet another teaser for Telltale’s wildly popular Walking Dead game. I’m not even sure if releasing these trailers is necessary anymore, at least not for those of us who play the game and are already excited to find out what happens in the fourth episode, Around Every Corner.  It looks as if there will be little time for reflection of events past in this latest episode, as much of the trailer shows them running from walkers in what they had hoped would be a relatively safe coastal town.

The game looks quite different than it did only an episode ago. The group had been relatively stationary in the first three episodes, sticking close to the fledgling safety of the motor inn. But now with the motel and the RV behind them – literally- it looks like they have no choice but to move forward, finding someplace to call home. The tentative alliances within the group are still probably pretty tentative, but it doesn’t look like they’ll have much time to manage their disagreements like they did in the past.

If episode three was the “dark” episode then it looks like episode four may be the “action” episode. The past three episodes have all had their share of action, but each also left the group with loads of time to sit in awkward silence waiting for death. Most of the game’s tension came from the fact that they had, at some points, too much time on their hands, but this episode doesn’t seem like it will be the same.

Who knows though, if you’ve played the games you know that literally anything can happen, with more “Holy Crap” moments than I thought were possible in a game. Telltale hasn’t announced an official release date for the game, but hopefully it will be out just in time for Halloween.
