When you’re in the gaming industry as either a developer or a player, you will know that there is a significant amount of people who can be called “Whiny bastards”. Tekken Creator Katsuhiro Harada has put up with said people long enough and has put his foot down.
Harada posted a lengthy rant to his Twitter which took up far more than the 140 character limit would allow. He decided to call out people who wanted specific voice actors for certain characters, a common request. Citing the technical differences of the PSX and current consoles. He also cited the fact that many voice actors in the industry have turned down roles because their voices changed too much, they have retired, or they simply don’t want to.
Though Harada is a reasonable man, there are limits to his influence and power. He can’t exactly send a freakish ninja master to kidnap someone and make them sound good. He mentions that he will no longer continue engaging the negative ones that don’t know what the Hell they’re talking about.
More prominent members of the gaming industry need to hand out regular backhands like that. As I said in a previous opinion piece, some Gamers tend to have entitlement complexes and whine about everything.
