I for one have always been into skateboarding in one way or another, in fact I spent a good part of my teens and early 20’s skating around the towns I lived near with all of my friends. When the first Tony Hawk skateboarding game was released for the Xbox 360, my friends and I freaked out and wanted to play it non-stop when we were not shredding ourselves. The game features were pretty sweet and I just remember always trying to rack up as many points as I could with super crazy trick combos that would make your head spin. As we keep a close eye on the E3 event this year, I noticed that Activision made an announcement regarding a brand new Tony Hawk skateboard game coming for the PS3 and the Xbox 360.
The game is called Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD and there were plenty of screen shots to drool over, as well as stylish artwork that would make any skater a jealous one. The games looks like it will be something very special and according to the fact sheet released by the company, it is going to have a bit of old school Tony Hawk and plenty of new features to keep you busy. One thing that I really liked about the first Pro Skater was that you could essentially play all day, no matter what mood you were in the game did not restrict you to levels, or lives or anything at all. If you wanted to “free skate” the same spot for 12 hours you had the freedom to do so. In Tony Hawk Pro Skater HD, you get the option to replay the best levels from Pro Skater and Pro Skater 2, all of which were chosen by fans on Tony Hawk’s Twitter account last summer.
You can play online multi-player mode with up to four of your friends and listen to the new soundtrack that is made up of classics from older games and new stuff just for the HD version of the game. The announcement also talked about advanced controls for real life player motions and tricks, also the game includes fun objectives just like the old ones we loved to spend hours on. Games like S-K-A-T-E, Secret DVDs and other level specific goals that could make your board spin. I am pumped about this game, especially since it is available on both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, cause we all know it sucks when a sweet game is only available on the console that you do not have.
