Every Tuesday I like to take some time to focus on the hardworking and dedicated “YouTubers” within the gaming community. As this is a place for celebration and not notoriety, I have no problem dedicating this week’s edition to someone who is already enormously popular, even by YouTube standards. Chris Smoov has been uploading videos for games such as Madden and NBA 2K for over 4 years now. However, his real success has come from uploading Call of Duty videos that have a certain auto-tuned flair.
With over 390K subscribers, Chris Smoov is one of the most popular gaming channels on YouTube. His videos currently feature original music with critical moments of his commentary auto-tuned for some epic and funny moments. Dedicated viewers of his live CoD commentary will be rewarded with a number running gags and inside jokes. Newer viewers may tune-in just to hear how many different ways he can say the word noob.
His latest video, posted in January, has over 400K views. This isn’t a fluke as his videos tend to grab anywhere from 200K to 1 million views a piece. His most popular video (below) is back from Modern Warfare 2 and shows some old fashioned scavenger/claymore abuse.
