PS Vita Has Already Lost the Battery War to the 3DS

PS Vita Has Already Lost the Battery War to the 3DS

Chris Hernandez 02 Feb

In portable gaming battery life matters. No one wants to be stuck on a 6 hour flight and only have 3 hours of game time. So, in a recent test of both the PSVita and 3DS’s battery life while playing games, with all battery-saving features enabled, the testers came to a surprising conclusion. The 3DS ran a full hour longer than the vita in this trial, both playing the same game, F-1 2011. Watch the video below for the full experience, luckily its sped up by 60 times so you have just enough time for a small snack.

It is likely that the more powerful PS Vita is just too much for the limited battery technology that exists today. Sure they could have make the system bulkier to allow more mA/H, but who wants a bulkier system?
