March is Silent Hill month this year

March is Silent Hill month this year

Chris Hernandez 16 Jan

One month, five Silent Hill games. This March Konami is going to try and prove that Silent Hill is still relevant, both Homecoming and Shatter Memories received mediocre scores from most outlets. Along with the already announce HD Collection and Downpour, Konami has also announced the PS VIta exclusive Silent Hill Book of Memories.

Now, luckily for the fans they are not all coming out in the same so you have a little bit of time to play each one before the next comes out, it should also help you fill your wallet as well. The release on March 6 is the Silent Hill HD Collection for XBox 360 and PS3, and it includes Silent Hill 2 & 3, remastered with higher resolution graphics and brand new voice-overs. These two games are arguably the best in the series and if you haven’t played a Silent Hill game then I would strongly recommend starting with this collection.

A week later, on March 13 Silent Hill Downpour, also for the PS3 and 360, will launch.Silent Hill Downpour follows the story of Murphy Pendleton, a convicted felon, who finds himself trapped in Silent Hill after his prison transport bus crashes. Konami also promises this will be the most explore-able and expansive Silent Hill game yet.

Finally, Silent Hill Book of Memories will be released for the PS Vita on March 27, making it a title to look out for so, coming so shortly after the launch of the system itself. It features a unique story that is likely just to make using the new features of the handheld seem worthwhile. The story begins with a strange book that is received; inside that book is your entire life story and all of your memories.  You discover that by altering what’s written you can actually change the past. This will also be the first Silent Hill game to feature multiplayer support.

Any Silent Hill fan who happens to have been born in March will be showered in good news, it will be a Downpour…
