The ‘that’ is the lag problems that plague the PS3 version of Skyrim, which were discovered quickly after many became addicted to the latest entry in the Elder Scrolls series. See, how this bug works is that too many things have to be kept track of by the game, and they don’t despawn.
A previous patch reduced the symptoms of the lag which rendered Skyrim completely unplayable after a period of time, but did not completely fix it. The 1.4 patch has been confirmed to fix the problem by the Bethesda Blog’s official Twitter account. Hopefully this time they’ll solve the issue so we can play Skyrim without risk of losing progress.
Whenever you suffer this problem or not, this will be their second go at fixing this bug which also plagued a Fallout game, meaning that it’s an engine problem rather than a problem with the game itself. Bethesda games have never been known for their stability so things like this have come to be expected of their games, and are often forgiven due to the extreme size and scope of their game worlds.
Now, polish my spear.
