With the successful launch of the New 52, as well as the awesome Batman: Arkham City, it’s been a good year to be a fan of DC Comics (let’s all just pretend that Green Lantern movie didn’t happen). But if your love of superheroes has yet to be satiated, Lego has unveiled a sequel to Lego Batman, and this time the kid-friendly action game isn’t limited to the streets of Gotham– the newest Lego game is a blocky rendition of the entire DC Universe.
While Batman is still obviously the starring character, his friends from the Justice League will be playable this time as well: while a full roster has yet to be revealed, leaked ad content for the game indicate that Superman, Wonderwoman, and Green Lantern will be playable, while a host of new villains, like Lex Luthor, will join Batman’s stable of villains from the original game.
The Lego games have always had a sort of simple, shallow charm to them, and while I’ve never purchased one before unless they were heavily discounted, my love for all things DC means I’ll probably pick this one up when it comes out. I’m really hoping for a cute, Lego-ified version of The Question, or maybe Necron. Make it happen, Lego.
