If you’ve been addicted to Skyrim on the PS3, no doubt the performance has been acting up a bit for you. Playstation Life Style has found a small quick-fix solution you can use so that you can play normally while you wait for Bethesda to patch it. Details after the jump.
Basically, the performance drops because of all the game-world elements being kept track of by the system, and the world isn’t “refreshed” as often as the previous entries. Every element that is moved still needs to be kept track of by the system, and the RAM is overloaded.
To mitigate this, you should regularly save the game as any common sense player will do, quit the game, and then reload it. This apparently obliterates all the faraway details the game is keeping track of that it no longer needs to, resulting in a complete refresh of the game world. Unfortunately me being poor trash means I lack Skyrim just now, but if someone can confirm that this works, that would be excellent. It makes sense enough to me.
