You can start flipping tables now. The word from Rockstar themselves is that San Fierro and Las Venturas wont be in Grand Theft Auto 5. They are both respectively based loosely on San Francisco down to the gay pride flags and two men holding hands in the street, and Las Venturas being based on Las Vegas with the overall best urban scenery and tons of gambling.
The word is that GTAV will be set only in Los Santos and the surrounding countryside and beaches, but will also be the biggest and most ambitious game created by Rockstar so far. Also stated is that the focus of the plot will be on money, which as the 4chan leak said is a major plot point, so that’s that leak confirmed quite strongly for its validity, and Los Santos has indeed been improved and expanded since CJ tore up the streets.
It is quite disappointing that it’s only one city, and I’d personally have, if given the choice, three areas with a large amount of countryside to explore since I’m just that kind of gamer. However it is possible that Rockstar might expand on the game and create DLC and expansion packs that will open up access to San Fierro and Las Venturas if they get a big enough budget. That’s just wishful hopes on my part however.
I wonder how they will handle the “borders” of the city if expanding it becomes a plan. The previous GTA games simply had endless water in all directions, meaning every single game is an island. The only game I know of where you could go further than that was True Crime: Streets of LA, but if you went too far you would simply white out and find yourself back in LA. Not certain how LA Noire handles it.

At least 2 out of 3 cities without DLC, or I’m not playing GTA V.
