Indie-Royale Now Available

Indie-Royale Now Available

Michael Lacerna 27 Oct

Like indie games? Then you’ll love the new Indie Royale website, which bundles four popular indie games together for a low (at least at the start) price.  Here’s how the site works: Each bundle launches with a price of $2.50, but the price goes up as more people buy it, meaning it’s in your best interest to pick up these games as early as you can… but if you’re feeling charitable, you can pay more than the current suggested price and that’ll make the price go down for everybody.

The only available bundle currently is the “Launch Bundle,” which includes well reviewed shooter-strategy hybrid Sanctum, as well as retro-styled 2D adventure game Gemini Rue, flight-based racing game Nimbus, and the wonderfully old-school 2D action game A.R.E.S. As I write this article, the price of the bundle has risen to $3.80, but that’s still much less than you would pay if you bought these games seperately. Sanctum alone sells for $9.99 on Steam, so even if only want that one game, you’d still end up saving money.  Furthermore, buying the games through the Indie Royale website also allows you access to these same games over digital distro services Steam or Desura.

With games from the big publishers become increasingly focus-tested and homogenized, indie games are quickly becoming the go-to source for innovation and experimentation in game design, so it’s always nice to be able to support these creative upstarts while at the same time saving some money.  Indie Royale is promising more bundles in the future, so keep an eye out on their website for even more deals.
