Nintendo held a one hour press conference overnight about the upcoming 3DS firmware update expected to launch in November. Unfortunately, all the details which we will list after the break are from the Japanese conference and we may not get to see all the features in North America. Nintendo also held a U.S. version of the same conference and only one feature was specifically mentioned which was 3D video.
Here are the highlights:
- 3D video recording will be enabled. You’ll have plenty of options to tweak your clips (which can be up to 10 minutes long), including enabling stop-motion animation.
- There’s a map overlay to show where Miis you’ve collected in StreetPass are from.
- You’ll be able to transfer software to other 3DS systems.
- The 3DS RPG Find Mii will get a sequel, available only if you’ve cleared the first iteration.
Hopefully, we see all these extra nifty-gifties in the near future though I think most only care about the video recording.
