Level-5 has teamed up with Studio Ghibli to create what Kotaku calls ” the prettiest game on the PS3″. It’s Japanese name Ni No Kuni has been translated by some to mean The Another World. The U.S. department of Level-5 seems to think that translation would not fly so well and have posted a trademark for the title Wrath of the White Witch.
This information reaffirms a North American release, though there was little doubt considering the popularity of Studio Ghibli films there. Though there is still no specific date set. The new title also may be derived from the Japanese subtitle which translates to Queen of the Holy White Ash.
Ni no Kuni will release for the Playstation 3 on November 17, 2011 and December 9 for the Nintendo DS, in Japan. A 2012 release is expected for the North American, PS3 version.
I am very much looking forward to this game as I love Studio Ghibli, Level 5’s games and RPGs, it’s a triple threat if you ask me. What do you think of the new title?

When Steambot Chronicles came out, some said “If Miyazaki made an RPG, it would probably look like this.”
But this? If Miyazaki made an RPG, this is EXACTLY what it would look like. Considering his position in Ghibli he might as well have. Probably did.

I’m sure he had much influence in the project, or at least was consulted.
