Will the retailer specific bonuses ever end for game pre-orders? No, not any time soon it seems, as Final Fantasy XIII-2 is yet another title to join the legion of “which store do I buy my game?” releases. The answer may seem pretty obvious for most as two out of the three aren’t that great.
Pre-order at Gamestop and receive an alternate costume for Serah, Lightenings’ little sister, as she is playable for the first time round. I hope the new outfit is something extravagant.
If you’re looking for something a little more exciting then head on over to Amazon and pre-order for the Omega boss battle, which can fought in the coliseum and subsequently equipped as an allied monster, which is a new feature in the game.
Finally, Best Buy is giving away something a bit more tangible, a hard cover novella to those that put down some early cash. It is also the most obvious choice for anyone who has not played the first Final Fantasy XIII as the novella will bridge the gap between that and the sequel.
Keep in mind the Amazon and Gamestop pre-orders will be available as DLC much later, for money, while the book will likely only be a pre-order exclusive. An alternate Noel costume will be coming as well while we are on the topic of DLC.
Which one will you get?
Final Fantasy XIII-2 will be available January 31st for Playstation 3 and XBox 360.
