The sequel to March’s God Eater Burst is already in development with a planned 2012 release. That may seem pretty soon, having only a year of development but the original Japanese title came out last October and the North American release will probably be several months later.
God Eater 2, an action/adventure game, will take place three years after the events of the original and will feature some new enhancements, such as altered visuals, a new “engagement system” and new weapons. The Boost Hammer and Charge Spear are the first two to be announced. The game will also have GC cutscenes as opposed to the anime style ones of Burst. Finally, it has also been announced that there will be new Aragami.
It is a little odd that the game is slated for the PSP when the Vita is right around the corner, but perhaps Shift and Namco Bandai do not want to alienate fans. Look for more details as the game comes closer to release.
