Bioshock: Infinite Preview

Bioshock: Infinite Preview

Alex 01 Oct

I’m going to talk about the upcoming Bioshock Infinite because the look of this game is something that is far beyond what anyone else is putting out.  I’m looking forward to this game more than any of the major motion pictures coming out in 2012.

That’s a contrast to the game’s story which takes place exactly 100 years earlier in 1912.  This is astounding as fans of the previous two games that took place in the early 1960s had anticipated a continuation of the adventures of the undersea city of Rapture.  However this time the story takes place in a floating city called Columbia.  At first this was a turn off because Bioshock 2 didn’t live up to the graphics expectations of the first game that was just gritty, filthy, scary and amazing.  You didn’t know where a menace was going to emerge or what Plasmid powers that antagonist had.  Some had specific expected characteristics but sometimes you got caught by surprise.

Anyhow, Bioshock: Infinite looks like one of the most spectacular games of all time.  Graphics are nothing short of spectacular, in 3D it should look like something that would give the big movie Avatar a run for its money.  I’m liking the battle scenes as the first Bioshock wasn’t just a video game but a trip through insanity.  A real adventure as though Jules Verne had a nightmare that broke through kickin’ major butt.

Bioshock: Infinite will no doubt have a great story, strategies and characters that will blow gamers’ minds and from the look of the gameplay trailers it’s going to be the kind of game people will want to play over and over again.  Just wait til this game breaks out.  For people who have the big screen TVs like the LED-Lit units or even the newer projection TVs, the graphics and audio and score are going to be feature film quality on steroids.
