It is not much of a shocker when games are leaked before release dates, that seems to be happening quite regularly nowadays, but gamers do not expect this for a highly-anticipated, popularly acclaimed game. RAGE may even be a possible candidate for Game Of The Year and was leaked weeks before its supposed launch date.
RAGE, id Software and Bethesda Softwork’s first person shooter set for release on October 4 has leaked both the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. This was supposedly one of the most anticipated game releases of the year, with id Software setting to debut its OpenGL 4.2 graphics software for the PC. Reports has claimed that the RAGE leaked version for the Xbox 360 and PS3 version is around 19GB. Although, the PC version has not yet been leaked and is still safe – as of this moment.
For obvious reasons, we won’t be providing any link to the whereabouts of the leaked content. But for heaven’s sake, really? This is so messed up! Millions of fans were really anticipating for RAGE and now it gets smacked to the ground because of this pre-launch leak. Publishers should probably be more careful at handling their “unreleased” games, as this is happening quite too often recently.

Those who are loyal, or don’t want to put the minimal effort to mod their console will still buy the game.

Impossible to avoid really, games have to arrive at a store some time before release to ensure they’re go on sale on time, leaks will at least happen during this chain of transfer.

Yeah, but if it gets traced to a specific company, then the distributors can simply say “Sorry but if you can’t respect the release date, we wont sell you any of our games.” to them and really ruin their profits.
