USB Powered Monitor from AOC

USB Powered Monitor from AOC

Nick Hernandez 23 Sep

The world’s leading monitor and display manufacturer AOC has announced what could quite possibly be the most innovative and revolutionary monitor ever. This monitor is designed for laptops and can be connected via a single USB port which is also the source of power! AOC has nearly 60 years of experience in the design and sales of monitors but this is among the best it has ever come up with. All its monitors have the reputation of being user friendly and featuring multiple functions.

The monitor does not need a power supply or a VGA or HDMI cable for connecting to the laptop and is meant for using as an extended or dual display. This USB monitor is going to be priced at $139 and will be available October 2011. It provides 16 inches of LED display for users looking to get more out of their laptops or netbooks.

Despite the small size and the low level input, the USB monitor has impressive performance specifications and features a contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1 and comes with a 5ms response time. Resolution is a decent 1366×768. It also comes with a foldable in-built stand at the back and can be used for both landscape and portrait orientations.

The aesthetics of the monitor are impressive too with a black glossy finish on the bezel. The screen is made of hard glass for great protection and to prevent scratches. However, AOC seems to be more intent on the portability of this monitor as it can be used for a variety of applications from video chatting to photo display and extended monitors. The LED panel, according to AOC, is bright and the resolution matches that of any normal monitor from its lineup.
