Hotmail, MSN, Sky Drive Taking a Break – Offline for couple hours

Nick Hernandez 09 Sep

You may have noticed that nice “page can not be displayed” message that has shown up on your browser while trying to access many of Microsoft’s web services tonight. Well, users have taken to twitter complaining of the issue and Microsoft has quickly responded stating “We’re aware of an outage impacting some of our properties. We are actively working to resolve this issue & seeing some returning now.” Not sure what they mean by that yet as all of their properties are down currently, but there is probably a internet routing issue at the datacenter that I am sure they are working as quickly as possible to resolve.

Microsoft recently discounted Office 365 users bills by 25% after a three hour service outage on August 17; Office 365 worldwide on June 28. Office 365 provides Office 2010, Exchange, SharePoint and Lync all Online in a cloud-based service. The service is a full browser-based solution that incorporates webmail, collaboration and document management.

Update: Seems to be back up in our browser but phone still unable to grab emails.

Nick Hernandez

based out of London, Ontario; and has been flexing his literary skills for about 2 years. Initially attracted to the space due to his kinship with the creative minds that tend to socialize through the gaming industry, and having played games all his life; it led to a natural willingness to learn more about both the people, and entities that drive innovation in the space. A self-confessed Conter Strike: Source aficionado he claims the aforementioned as his favourite game of all time, simply due to the sheer amount of hours he has spent in the game. An optimist by nature, Nick tends to see the best in everyone, even if they can’t in themselves.
