Microsoft has made a recent announcement about a deal they have made with Bethesda regarding Skyrim’s DLC. There will be DLC released before anywhere else a full 30 days ahead.
“On November 11th, Bethesda Game Studios brings us the next installment in The Elder Scrolls franchise with The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Xbox LIVE will be the first to bring players the experience of Skyrim’s add-on content in this revolutionized open-world fantasy epic where players can explore any way they choose.
The first two add-on content drops for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim will be releasing exclusively on Xbox 360, 30 days before it’s available anywhere else. If you’d like to be the first to break new ground in Skyrim, Xbox LIVE is the only destination that won’t keep you waiting.”
Skyrim’s multiplatform release is on November 11th, but I think this will be a non issue for a good handful since Christmas will be coming up and many will be getting it. And who honestly gets through an Elder Scrolls game in that short a time?
On the forum for the site PSU, the user NapoleonM249 has said “PSN users, RPG lovers, do your part and play Dark Souls instead of this garbage. Do not allow yourselves to be suckered into this nonsense, for it is clear that Bethesda are pushovers by Microsoft. They’ve been crapping all over PS3 and Sony for 5 years now it’s to take a stand.”, I had to look up Napoleon Complex to see if there was any irony in this but unfortunately I don’t know the measurements of the user.
Despite his call to arms, most of the users on the thread have said they either don’t care about DLC or how it’s just 30 days. Most other responses are sarcasm. Pretty different from the usual “GETCHER PITCHFORKS!” deal you often see in the gaming community.
