Capcom, having decided that they’ve spent enough time destroying good things (yes, I’m still mad about that,) announced some good news today: a new version of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will be available this Fall. The modestly titled Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 will bring 12 new characters, 8 new stages, a host of rebalancing tweaks, and a new Spectator mode. While Capcom planned to announce the new characters intermittently between today’s announcement and the time of the game’s launch, clever fans were able to find the full character roster early on Capcom’s website:
The new characters are as follows: the Marvel side will be bolstered by the addition of Ghost Rider, Hawkeye, Nova, Rocket Racoon, Iron Fist and Doctor Strange, while the Capcom side will gain Phoenix Wright, Frank West, Strider, Red Arremer (also known as Firebrand,) the Nemesis from Resident Evil 3, and Vergil from Devil May Cry 3. Frank West and Phoenix Wright were frequently requested characters from fans, and their addition to the roster should appease Capcom fans.
Of course, now we can all complain that there’s still no Mega Man or Mega Man X in the roster… Or anywhere in Capcom’s lineup, for that matter (yeah, I’m bitter). Still, fans of Capcom’s hyperactive fighter have much to look forward to when Ultimate MvC3 launches this November for the semi-bargain price of $40.
