Burnout Crash! Has Become Official

Burnout Crash! Has Become Official

Chris Hernandez 12 Jul

After much mystery and intrigue EA has finally confirmed the existence of a new Burnout title, Crash! .Though to the dismay of many it is not a full Burnout experience similar to Paradise and it is only a downloadable title that features only the crash mode which was introduced in Burnout: Revenge, which requires players to destroy as much of the environment as possible to wrack up the points.

It is coming out on both XBLA and PSN sometime this year, but the Xbox version will get bonus Kinect support as well. The Kinect feature is really only to replace the steering feature by pretending to hold a real steering wheel. Other features of this release include three game modes across six unique locations and it boasts 18 crash junctions. It seems relatively extensive for a downloadable title which presumably has plenty of replay value with the inclusion of  the EA social network Autolog.

Criterion will still be handling all the development of the title as Burnout has become their baby. The exact price and release date have not been confirmed.

I love the Burnout series, but I think I will pass on this.
