Call of Duty XP Will Have Playable Modern Warfare 3 Demo

Call of Duty XP Will Have Playable Modern Warfare 3 Demo

Chris Hernandez 05 Jul

This September thousands of Call of Duty fans will get the ultimate experience(XP) at a convention built around the franchise that has become hugely popular. Modern Warfare 3 will be one of the many ‘experiences’ to be had at this LA based convention, but it seems to be on par with the other events to appear at the two day show.

In addition to the MW3 playable demo there will be chances to win a million dollars in cash and prizes, which must be qualified for by showing off your skills in Black Ops. The Million Dollar operation will be a 32-team, single-elimination bracket competition with 4 players per team. There will also be smaller competitions such as who can survive in Zombies the longest and Spec Ops competitions.

Four more events will be taking place:

Run the Pit is described as the Pit, for real, this iconic moment from Modern Warfare 2 comes to life as you run and shoot to win prizes”. I’m not quite sure what that means but it sure does sound exciting.

Live Action Scrapyard Multiplayer is probably the coolest aspect of the event in my opinion. It is a life-sized recreation of the level Scrapyard, built to be a paintball arena straight out of the Modern Warfare 2 map.

Burger Town is a real burger joint to gill up your tank after some hearty paint-balling, the serve the basics, burgers and fries.

Finally, the Call of Duty Armory is essentially a museum of memorabilia from all the Call of Duty titles including a detailed history and many one-of-a-kind items.

It sounds like quite a event to celebrate of the most well known FPS franchises of this decade. It will cost $150 per ticket with 100% of proceeds going to Call of Duty Endowment a non-profit organization which seeks to help veterans find work and establish careers as they transition back to civilian life. The event runs September 2nd and 3rd.
