Exclusive DLC for pre-orders is nothing new in recent years. However, Battlefield “fans” appear to have forgotten that and are raging and saying they are going to boycott the game. DICE has heard the complaints coming in from the users and have responded via their FAQ section on their blog.
According to DICE, much like all pre-order DLC for games the bonus items were “specifically chosen not to be overpowered or imbalanced or break the game in any way”, it will give you new weapons to play with but “not give you a significant advantage on the battlefield.”
The bonus content includes the “Back to Karkand” expansion pack, that features a number of maps and a variety of equipment and weapons. The maps in the expansion pack will also be available as DLC for those who did not pre-order the game though it seems the equipment is still an exclusive.
I still see no reason for all the complaining but if you are on the bandwagon to complain please feel free to clarify in the comments.
Battlefield 3 is set to release October 25 on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.

I’m not really on the bandwagon since I honestly don’t care for FPS games. Even if they aren’t imbalanced, people will still get POed one way or another because the gamers aren’t being treated equally. They always seem to have a sense of entitlement, but it is true that they should be equal as soon as they step into the playing field.
People have a tendency to overreact in online games. What bugs me though is that people CANCELLED their pre-orders over a pre-order bonus. Is there a word for things like that?
