Shigeru Miyamoto, himself, mentioned that a new Pikmin game may be in the works for the Wii U, at a Nintendo round-table discussion. Though he didn’t right out confirm it, he did say that there was indeed a Pikmin game being developed for the Wii, but after seeing the functionality and features of the Wii U Miyamoto changed his mind on that project.
Pikmin has a very strong cult following since it’s release for the Gamecube and it would be perfectly fitting in a motion controlled environment. Though gamers will not see it on the Wii, the wait for its release on the next generation Nintendo console could be more than worth it.
I am certainly excited for the possibilities that the Wii U could provide to a game like Pikmin, or even RTS games, which have little support on consoles.
