Nexon is one of Korea’s largest online gaming companies, known for their most popular MMORPG, Maple Story. Last year, they were pushing Vindictus, an action MMORPG that lacks the adorable characters you would find in Maple Story. You can play as Lann (a warrior specialized in dual-wielding weapons), Fiona (a balanced warrior with a sword and shield), Evie (a magician), and their newest character Karok (a tank of a character who can rip enemies apart).
Vindictus took five years to develop and is continuously being updated with new material to keep their fans updated. In fact, an 8th dungeon will be released in July as well as Karok, who will be available as a character on June 15th. They use a Free to Play (F2P) model, meaning that the game is free to all users. Virtual goods are sold to enhance the character’s appearance, abilities, and to revive a player, but it doesn’t affect the user’s gaming play at all. Their success is in the numbers really, as they have successfully gotten 500,000 registration in North America in 6 months alone.
This year, they were pushing their newest action MMORPG, Dragon’s Nest. Tactics and a bit of skill are needed for the game, but the same sort of cutesy design that can be seen in Maple Story has transitioned into Dragon’s Nest.
With only one more day left of E3, I would also like to add, I won an adorable spirithood and Nexon is giving out some pretty neat looking t-shirt. So far, some of my favorite swag.

This is a really interesting development to the Vindictus world and I love the theme behind Karok. Will enjoy seeing what this means, and I love the E3 news put out by Nexon. Woot!
