GAME, the British videogame retailer has set up their pre-orders for Sony’s new console, the Vita. The price of the console is 229.99 pounds for the WiFi version, and 279.99 for the 3G version. It’s not known who will be providing the 3G service in the UK or what it’s price tag, if any, will be. In the states however, AT&T will be monopolizing the Vita’s 3G features and connections.
An odd thing about this however is that Sony has yet to announce a price for UK gamers who want to purchase the hardware. Either someone at GAME has insider knowledge, or they are taking a shot in the dark at the price. Regardless, they’re taking a bit of a risk if people are going to be paying for it up-front.
The specs of the console are pretty impressive, but I don’t know what to think about the touch-screen on the back, I really don’t know what they were thinking when they came up with that idea. Regardless, the PSP was a pretty awesome system in its own right, and this one should open up some nice possibilities.
