With Duke Nukem Forever right around the corner, quite literally less than two weeks away, 11 days to be exact… wait, 11 days? Holy crap! Where’s my proof of pre-order? I’m going to need it.
Gamestop was recently asked by Gamepro if they would be honoring all Duke Nukem Forever preorders, even ones from over a decade ago. Gamestop had this to say to them.
“With a long-anticipated release like Duke Nukem Forever, we encourage customers who pre-ordered more than a year ago to verify their reservation with their local store prior to launch. Provided the customer has a receipt, we will honor even those pre-orders taken long ago. At this time, we expect that all pre-order customers will receive Duke’s Big Package at time of purchase, regardless of when the reservation was made.”
I believe anyone who comes in with a pre-order dating to earlier than 2000 should be given something special for hanging onto a receipt for that length of time, maybe a signed copy of the game or a photo with The Duke. Wishful thinking but anyone who is able to hang onto a pre-order for that long is a dedicated fan.
Man, I can’t believe it’s finally coming out. Hopefully the powers that be are kept busy for the next 11 days. The ones behind the final release of the game have stated it would take a literal act of God to prevent the game from coming out. Somewhere, an evil deity is saying with a smirk “Challenge accepted”.
