Becoming rarer as the gaming community thrives, is the release of free or even reasonably priced DLC for many modern games. CD Projekt, the Polish developer behind The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, has announced via Gamestops Facebook page that all future and current DLC for the game will be free except expansions.
The first free DLC pack is entitled Troll Trouble, and has been available since the games launch on the 17th of May.
Now, this is a great incentive to buy the game, which is PC only, as not only are you getting a game that has received many good reviews but you are also getting game expanding content for absolutely no cost to yourself. Though, I believe this is because CD Projekt understand the rampant piracy of PC games and are likely aware that they wouldn’t make as many content sales as if it were on Xbox or PS3.I see this is a way to create more interest in the game and perhaps force people to purchase it so they can get all the content without resorting to more questionable and sometime annoying methods of piracy.
