Edit: This was simply a rumor based on some sales numbers, though the DS and Wii aren’t their best sellers, they wont be cutting any support for it. Error on my part and I apologize.
Capcom, developers and publishers of Mega Man, Marvel vs Capcom, and Phoenix Wright have said they will up support for the PS3 and 360, while focusing less on the 3DS and Wii.
A rather crazy move for the company for a handful of reasons. The Wii and 3DS being among the bestselling consoles means that they will be cutting out a rather large portion of potential sales. At the same time, this means that they can focus less on cross-platform games which opens up its own can of worms from time to time.
Why they are doing this can only be speculated. The technology of the 3DS is new and alien, and possibly difficult to develop for since 3D technology of that level has never been used in home gaming up to this point. The Wii, though innovative, has a lot of people who simply do not like the idea of motion control, and is starting to get a bit dated in the eyes of developers.
Of course, remember that this is only a “cut”, they’ll probably still be releasing a kajillion Mega Man spinoffs and Phoenix Wright games. That’s really all I care about from Capcom if I want to be honest. Since Mega Man is largely Nintendo exclusive last I checked, it could mean a heavier focus on Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom.

I would be fine to not have another Street Fighter game for either system. The 3DS one was underwhelming.

Nice trolling, bro. Capcom confirms your report as BOGUS:

I see, thanks for pointing that out, I’ll amend the article accordingly. Just shows you have to chase down pretty much everything. My mistake.
