The third-party manufacturer Hyperkin has announced the Remotext slated for a release in June will include a full QWERTY keypad and DVD/Blu-Ray control.
Steven Mar, business director of Hyperkin has said “The PS3 Remotext is a great solution for texting and watching movies. It has everything you need to access all of the PS3’s major functions, providing an easy-to-use way to control and enjoy the system.”
The main function of the Remotext is to text people across the Playstation Network, and use its buttons for PS3 games.
A remote control with a keyboard isn’t exactly an innovative or new technology. It is heavily unused much to the dismay of some players, meaning people have to rely heavily on headsets to play and talk simultaneously. The more functions you cram into a single piece of hardware however, the more cluttered it becomes. Here’s hoping it’s pulled off successfully.
