Mortal Kombat will not require an online pass as long as Playstation Store is down

Mortal Kombat will not require an online pass as long as Playstation Store is down

Rian Quenlin 20 May

In an act of fair generosity, the publisher of Mortal Kombat has announced that the game will not need an online pass until PSN’s store returns to full function. This relieves a lot of worries coming from players who fear they are unable to play the game online. Today, it was announced that the game will need no online pass until Tuesday assuming acts of God don’t blitz the network for a second month of downtime.

The Online Pass costs $9.99, but anyone who purchased the game brand new will already have one, but people who bought it used will need to fork over that ten bucks in order to play online. Which I think is just a BS business practice but companies lose a lot of sales from used games. I can forgive them this time. If you got it used, get your online play before the world blows up tomorrow, or Tuesday if it doesn’t.
