From May 22nd to September 3rd of this year, purchasing a PC priced at $699 at certain retailers like Dell, HP.com, or the Microsoft Store and providing proof that you’re a student will net you an XBox 360 into the mix. This is quite a limited offer and retailers are only getting a few of the giveaway XBoxes, so it’s best to get this offer at the first possible opportunity. $700 is a lot to splash out on a computer, but it’s an investment well worth making if you’ll also get a 360 alongside it.
I don’t know how you would prove you were a student, since I’m not in college or university myself, but it’s only available to people who can fork over the right ID. Of course you could probably toss $700 to your best mate on college and have him buy it in exchange for hooking him up with a nice girl or some beers. Good investment.
4GB isn’t an awful lot of space these days, but the hard drive of a 360 can be easily swapped out by anyone with even a basic know-how. This is an incredibly generous offer on Microsoft’s part. The company has really changed its tune lately. A good browser, a solid security system, a good OS, free XBoxes, I think Bill Gates suddenly realized just how many zeroes are in a billion.
