Duke Nukem Forever specs revealed, spoiler: They’re actually pretty reasonable.

Duke Nukem Forever specs revealed, spoiler: They’re actually pretty reasonable.

Rian Quenlin 04 May

Various sites are showing off the specs of the poster child for Development Hell, Duke Nukem Forever, starting production in 1997 and now, 14 years later, is finally coming out. The game is probably a record holder for being vaporware with all of its constant setbacks, engine changes, and delays. But enough with what we know, onto the game specs.

Minimum Specs

  • Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.0 Ghz / AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 2.0 Ghz
  • 1GB RAM
  • nVidia GeForce 7600 / ATI Radeon HD 2600 or equivalent with 256MB video memory
  • Windows XP/Vista/7 OS
  • 10GB free hard disk space
  • DirectX Compatible sound card

Recommended Specs

  • Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 Ghz / AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 2.6 Ghz or better
  • 2GB RAM
  • nVidia GeForce 8800 GTS / ATI Radeon HD 3850 or better, with 512MB video memory
  • Windows XP/Vista/7 OS
  • 10GB free hard disk space
  • DirectX Compatible sound card

These are actually very reasonable system requirements, meaning that most modern PCs will be able to play it without having to screw around with new graphics cards and processors. My laptop is cheap and about a year old and it could probably play this pretty well if I turn the graphics down to a low level.

Bin Laden captured and Duke Nukem Forever gets progress. PSN should go down more often.
