Well the rumors are true, just when we thought the Duke was going to show his stuff stuff, Gearbox proposed a new release date. Randy Pitchford (President of Gearbox) ensures that this decision was made to ensure the quality and polish that gamers are expecting after a 14 year wait. This may be the case, but generally games can pull off this kind of success in anywhere from 2-5 years. This last minute push actually begins to worry me at this point, like what could possibly need fixing at this point. I understand where Gearbox is coming from, I guess its just tough news to digest after hearing about the awesome multiplayer as well this week.
So if you are here for the nitty gritty, the final release dates are as follows. Their will be an international release of the game June 10th, and then North America will get Duke on June 14th. Just to wrap up that is June 10th and 14th not May 3rd. I have to say Gearbox did play this last minute push in a comical style, their is a video floating around of the new date being announced and the video is in good spirits. Fans that are buying this game will be bummed out, but it will not slow the Duke momentum down. This game is coming whether we like it or not at this point, so all you can do is be ready for Duke!
