The great news continues to flow today with the announcement of the long awaited Gears of War 3 beta. Starting this April players will have access to the public beta for 3 weeks. Those of you who have purchased Bulletstorm will have access to the beta April 18th (one week early), and all others can begin one week later on April 25th. The beta will finish May 15th and include unlockables that can be carried over to the full retail version of the game this fall. If certain in game requirements are met by specific dates, you will carry those perks and enhancements to the final retail version as well. So not only can you enjoy the beta, you can also keep a souvenir.
Unlockable content includes gun skins, player skins, and specific medals that signify your inclusion on the beta. Some of these skins include flaming versions of popular gears weapons like the Hammerburst, Lancer, and Shotgun. With only 3-4 weeks of beta access coming this spring you may want to clear your calendar and make some space for a serious COG fest.
