Valentine’s Day Gift Guide For Your Geek Girl

Valentine’s Day Gift Guide For Your Geek Girl

Angela Min 06 Feb

With only about a week left before Valentine’s Day, I am pretty sure you guys with a special someone in your lives are starting to get anxious. You are totally at a loss, and if you come home with another box of chocolates with her, not only will she yell at you for making her fat, you will also be that “inconsiderate jerk who doesn’t know anything” to her friends. Well here is a list of awesome gift ideas that will make that special geek in your life just swoon.

10. Oh yes, they are certainly practical, and awesome all at the same time. As a DC girl at heart, I know I would certainly wear these rain boots with great pride.

9. These little fellows have been around for quite awhile, and unless your girlfriend already owns all of them, she will enjoy these adorable little microbes. Remember, a venereal disease means love (I meant the plush, if you give her a real venereal disease… just don’t do it)

8. She wants to go to Comic Con, trust me, she does. And she would appreciate the struggle you had to go through to get her the tickets, especially with their extremely temperamental systems. As one of the largest pop culture and geek related conventions in the country, it’s a dream. Just protect her from all the nerds who haven’t showered in days while you are there, and be sure to buy tickets soon.

7. She reads, a lot, and has a tendency to even carry some of her books with her. You’ve seen her struggle trying to fit a volume of Harry Potter in her purse (seriously, Order of the Phoenix, come on). It’s time to just suck it up, buy her a Kindle. Yes, she will persist that she likes her books, the smell of the paper, but that sentiment disappears the instant you gift her that Kindle and she realizes she can carry THOUSANDS of books in her purse. Exactly.

6. She owns an Xbox, she takes pride in her achievement points, so why not gift her with a phone that will allow her to get achievement points wherever she is? The Windows Phone 7 doesn’t get as much credit as it deserves, because it is honestly an amazing device, and after playing several flash games such as fruit ninja and Bejeweled, I am an achievement points addict. Your girlfriend should have the same opportunity.

5. She doesn’t own her own adorable R2-D2 flashdrive yet? She only owns that lame USB drive she got on sale at some lame electronics store? Come on, you should know better than that. All females want adorable renditions of what they own (ergo, the reason for a Hello Kitty Toaster).

4. Oh how I wish, dream, hope for the world of wizardry to exist, even with all that evil shenanigans that Voldemort pulled for several years. So if your girlfriend is a fan, she already owns all of these movies on DVD. However, as a true Harry Potter fan, none of that matters when a new box set comes out. So you can imagine the state of excitement I was in when I received all four years available in the ultimate edition of these movies. Now, imagine your girlfriend’s face. Exactly.

3. Oh yeah, it’s been highly anticipated, and hell yes, she wants it. Stars Wars on Blu-ray? Enough said.

2. You need her as close to you as possible for full life bars. Sure, matching shirts are totally lame, but this shirt is just the right amount of lame, and that amount is overshadowed but just how awesome it is.

1. For the girlfriend who has everything, and has taste for something couture (in other words, expensive), this is it. I actually got some pieces for Valentine’s Day and LOVE IT. DC collaborated with high end jewelry company, nOir Jewelry. But be careful, that Gotham city ring is lethal, almost poked a little kids eye out, true story.

Hope this help with your Valentine’s Day gift shopping (or future shopping) for that special geek in your life.
