This March during the Game Developers Conference, the public will finally get a chance to take a look at a little game called Battlefield 3. GDC 2011 will be hosting an EA press conference where Battlefield 3 will get a proper unveiling. No word as to if this will be a cinematic trailer or gameplay, but considering the beta and the proposed release slot for 2011, its time to see some gameplay. EA looks to have many other games on display that weekend, so more to come on that closer to March.
I guess those of you who received Battlefield 3 beta access through your purchase of Medal of Honor may not be waiting as long as you thought. Keep in mind that EA has already gone on record saying that the Battlefield franchise is being used as their movement to de throne COD as the king of shooters. Considering the success of games like Battlefield 2 on the PC, and Bad Company 2 on consoles, DICE has the ability to wow the shooter community. This game may be the beginning to a whole new kind of Battlefield.
All I can hope is that GDC provides a place where the hard working staff at Dice can show off a great new game. This title amongst many other great upcoming shooters have already made 2011 look like a great year for FPS’s.
